Juhu Beach

Juhu Beach is 6 km long, yet its main entrance is a 200 m stretch of Juhu Tara Road.

Phase 1 adds 3 acres of beach by taking traffic through a 325 m underpass beneath the Juhu Aerodrome, giving people new public space free of vehicles, noise and pollution, without land acquisition or reclamation.

Phase 2 imagines a 385-acre park in place of the aerodrome, today a heliport closed to the public whose offshore and private operations could move elsewhere. The park already exists; only its use would change.

Park, beach and sea would then open directly to Juhu, Vile Parle, Santacruz and Khar, and to the institutions and the lakhs of people who visit the beach every week.
