Versova–Bandra Sea Link

A shorter, cheaper sea link that keeps Bandra-to-Versova's beaches and promenades uninterrupted.

From Bandra to Versova the city has about 11 km of coastline. The Versova–Bandra Sea Link is planned as a 9.6 km road 1 km offshore, which then needs another 7.6 km of connectors to reach land, and where they land, the waterfront is cut.

Realigning three connectors into two, placed where they improve connections within the city, makes the link shorter, cheaper and better at spreading traffic. It keeps 7.5 km of beach and the 1.7 km Carter Road promenade uninterrupted.

The Carter Road connector, exiting at right angles at Otters Club, would create a bottleneck close to the Reclamation exit; the Juhu connector would land over a nallah and a beach. A single exit at Khar Danda serves Bandra, Khar and Juhu equally, and the Versova connector can avoid the beach, creek and mangroves at Nana–Nani Park with a simple realignment.
